Scheduling

Lesson times are available Monday through Friday, ending before 6:30 pm. I will do my best to work with you to find a time that is convenient for you and your family.
Times available will vary. Siblings will be given priority to be scheduled back-to-back. Students who homeschool or have early release are encouraged to schedule lesson times earlier in the day.
Lesson times will get a "refresh" every September, January, and June. This doesn't mean your lesson time necessarily has to change. We will just adjust as needed at these times.
Special activities such as recitals, field trips, group classes, or master classes will be scheduled at least a month in advance. Email announcements and reminders will be sent.

Missed Lessons

As of June 2025, DAPS does not offer make-up lessons. If a student needs to miss a lesson, please notify me as soon as possible.

I offer three types of optional, alternative lessons if the student or I cannot attend in person.

1.  Video Chat Lessons
  •  Available when the student or I are mildly ill or out of town, with access to a piano
  • An email will be sent with an invite to a Google Meet
  • Video chat lessons will occur at the student’s regularly scheduled time
  • Device will need to be pointed in such a way that the camera can see the student’s face and hands on the keys
  • I may request photos of certain pages of music to be texted or emailed to me
2.  Asynchronous Video Lessons
  • Available when the student or I have a family emergency, illness, or are out of town with access to a piano
  • The student will record a video of two or more assignments, ask any questions, and email the video to me. Videos will be due at their regularly scheduled lesson time
  • I will make a video in response within the next day or two
  • The student can view this video lesson at their convenience, before their next scheduled lesson
  • May be interactive/require a piano
 3.  Piano Lesson Presentations
  • Available at my discretion, when I am ill, am out of town, or have a family emergency
  • I will record a presentation on a particular topic, for each member of the studio to view at their convenience
  • May be interactive/require a piano
